Google just granted a free pass to play games of its cloud gaming platform for two months. I'd happily gone to the Play Store to download Stadia to enjoy this freebie but I realized that I needed stadia game controller to play! All hope is not lost as there was an option to play on Chrome browser on a computer or Chromebook. I tried to sideload Stadia on my Nvidia Shield since I have the game controller but it won't work. Now I don't have the patience to wait for Google to release the Android TV version. I decided to sideload Chrome browser on my Shield TV using the Desktop site option and the result couldn't be more satisfying. See the description below and give it a try today.
Device: Nvidia Shield Pro TV (any android TV should work fine), Nvidia game controller or Shield compatible controller (PS4 Dualshock), Install Chrome browser Shield TV (See how to sideload Android apps on YouTube).
To begin:
1. Go to the Play Store on your mobile phone and search for Stadia.
2. Install Stadia and link your Google email account.
3. Confirm subscription once Stadia is installed (There's free access for 2 months,
you may cancel to avoid monthly fees before that time).
4. Claim any of the free games or purchase your favourite game. (Testing with Destiny 2)

5. Choose the option to play on the computer screen.

6. On ShieldTV, install the latest version of Chrome browser
*On Shield TV, use the game controller/right joystick for navigation.

7. Launch the Chrome browser and click options (3 dots on top right corner).

9. Go to stadia.com and log in using your associated Google account and your
preselected game will appear on the opening page.

10. Tap the B button once to play the game and your game controller should be recognized. tap the
second time to launch the game.

Note: Always preselect the game you want to play on the mobile app. If you have trouble
launching the game the first time, try again and it should work fine.
